Barcelona has a highly developed and efficient public transit system that makes getting around the city easy and affordable. Metro, for example, is main public transit with 160 stations across the street which are arrive every 2-3 minutes. Additionaly to the metro, there are trains, covering surrounding towns and subrubs, are good for longer trips, and the buses, which cover places not served by metro and train, are also well-organized and modern. The city also has bike sharing system, and as the city is compact with lots of pedestrian zones walking is also one of the options.
Probably the best thing in Barcelona is the fact that it is very walkable city. Compact layout makes everything close to each other, meaning one can walk to almost any place. Grided streets with wide sidewalks makes walking easy and safe, and the superblocks which are mostly car-free zones makes walking even more avaible and quieter. Trees and public squares with gardens provide comfort especially during summer heat. Walking in Barcelona is not just functional - it is enjoyable; cafes, plazas, and historical places are what makes it enjoyable
